Ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis in Alaska ist, Grizzly-Bären im Katmai Nationalpark hautnah zu beobachten. Katmai NP ist eines der führenden Braunbär-Beobachtungsgebiete der Welt. Eine Erhebung ergab, dass die Population mehr als 2.000 Braunbären beträgt. An den Flüssen und entlang der Küste versammeln sich Braunbären, um Rotlachs zu fangen.
