Description

1890 war der erste Bauabschnitt der Rohrmeisterei in Schwerte. Das Gebaeude wurde als rotes Ziegelbauwerk errichtet und 1896 erweitert. Die gemauerten Rundboegen, die gusseisernern Sprossenfenster und das Tonnendach mit Stahlfachwerk stehen seit dem 19. September 1990 unter Denkmalschutz. Heute wird die Rohrmeisterei als Kultur- und Buergerzentrum sowie als Spielort der Extraschicht und Leseort des Literaturfestivals Mord am Hellweg genutzt. Ausserdem beherbergt es eine Gastronomie.
