Description

Brattahlid war Teil der Wikingerkolonie im Südwesten Grönlands, der Wohnsitz Erich des Roten. Der heutige Name der kleinen Siedlung am Eriksfjord (grönländisch: Tunulliarfik) ist Quassiarsuk. An diesem Ort wurden die Reste der ersten christlichen Kirche in Grönland freigelegt. Sie wurde auf um das Jahr 1000 erbaut. Das Bild zeigt einen Nachbau auf dem historischen Ort. Brattahlid was part of the Viking colony in southwestern Greenland, the residence of Erik the Red. The current name of the little settlement at Eriksfjord (Greenlandic: Tunulliarfik) is Quassiarsuk. In this place, the remains of the first Christian church in Greenland have been exposed. It was built at around the year 1000. The picture shows a replica of the historic site.
