Auf der Ruhrtalstrecke verkehrt die Ruhrtalbahn zwischen dem Eisenbahnmuseum in Bochum Dahlhausen und Hagen Hbf an jedem ersten Sonntag der Monate April bis November. Das Eisenbahnmuseum in Bochum Dahlhausen gehoert mit ueber 180 Fahrzeugen aus der Zeit von 1853 bis 1964 zu den groessten seiner Art in Deutschland. In einem orginal erhaltenen Betriebswerk mit Ringlokschuppen kann man von der kleinen Industriebahnlok bis hin zum elegannten Schnellzug Renner alle Modelle sehen. Das Eisenbahnuseum gehoehrt zu den Ankerpunkten der Route Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet sowie der Europaeischen Route der Industriekultur ERIH.
