"Das Floß der Medusa", ein Oratorium von Hans Werner Henze über Humanismus und dessen Versagen in Not. Es erzählt anhand der realen Geschichte der "Medusa", ein Schiff das 1816 auf eine Sandbank vor der Küste Senegals auflief. Nur wenige Menschen konnten sich retten und zwar auf unsagbare Weise.
