Description
Florence, Italy - October 2, 2011: Church of Santa Maria Novella and the obelisk that stands in front of the main facade, Florence, Italy. A lot of tourists on the churchyard. The church in Gothic Renaissance style (tuscan gothic) was designed by two dominican friars and the building began in 1246 and ended in 1360. the church was consecrated in 1420. The black and white marble works of the upper part of the facade were completed only in 1470 by Leone Battista Alberti.
