Description
Annapurna South (7219m) dominates here on the left hand side of the photo. Its eastern ridge (right) drops and then rises to another peak: Hiunchuli (6441m). Further right the ridge drops again to the Modi Khola Valley and Machapuchare (6993m) is on its other side, unseen on this photo. Behind Hiunchuli, slightly to the right of it, is Annapurna I (8091m) – the massif’s main peak. Right of it is the Annapurna’s long, high ridge with culminating again at Annapurna I Central (8051m) and Annapurna I East (8010m) and then stretching towards (Khangsar Kang 7485 m), unseen here. Sarangkot, Pokhara, Nepal. Photo shot in January.
