Die Eckartsburg oberhalb Eckartsberga im Burgenland im Süden von Sachsen-Anhalt ist mehr als 1000 Jahre alt. Sie ist an der Straße der Romanik gelegen. Trotz aller Umbauten und Zerstörungen hat die Ruine das Bild einer geschlossenen romanischen Burganlage bewahrt. Charakteristisch hierfür sind der freistehende Bergfried und die kastellartiger Kernburg mit Palas und Wohnturm, die aus heimischen Muschelkalk errichtet sind. - The Eckartsburg Castle in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany is more than 1000 years old. It is located at the street of the Romanesque. The ruin shows the image of a closed Romanesque castle, despite all the destruction and rebuildings. The castle is built from local limestone.
