The photo was taken on the road through the Andes near Paso Jama, Chile-Argentina-Bolivia. Vicuña (Vicugna vicugna) or vicugna is wild South American camelid, which live in the high alpine areas of the Andes. It is a relative of the llama. It is understood that the Inca valued vicuñas for their wool. The vicuña is the national animal of Peru and Bolivia.
