Description
17 schriftliche Ersuchen um das Jahr 1817 belegen die Verwendung der Sassendorfer Sole zu Badezwecken und Heilzwecken. Um 1836 wurden 2500-4000 Tonnen Salz gewonnen. 1852 wurden einige Holzbadewannen auf dem Salinengelaende aufgestellt. Diese stellen die Grundlage für das erste Kurmittelhaus und das heutige Heilbad dar. Bad Sassendorf ist auf den Kurbetrieb ausgerichtet. Aufgrund des Status als Kurort ist Bad Sassendorf auch ein Nahausflugsziel insbesondere an Sonntagen.
