Zu einem spektakulären Verkehrsunfall kam es am Dienstagnachmittag auf dem Parkplatz des EDEKA-Marktes in Siegen-Weidenau. Nach ersten Erkenntnissen der Polizei, befuhr eine 78-jährige Seniorin den Parkplatz und verwechselte aus bislang noch ungeklärter Ursache ihre Bremse mit dem Gaspedal. Wie Augenzeugen berichteten, schoss die Seniorin mit hoher Geschwindigkeit über den Parkplatz, krachte ungebremst in einen geparkten Kleinbus und prallte später frontal gegen die Hauswand des Supermarktes. Die 78-jährige wurde bei dem Unfall schwer Verletzt und wurde nach einer Behandlung durch den Notarzt mit schweren Verletzungen in ein Krankenhaus eingeliefert. Es entstand ein erheblicher Sachschaden an den beiden Fahrzeugen sowie an dem Gebäude. Die Feuerwehr musste ausrücken um auslaufende Betriebsstoffe abzustreuen.
