Description
Statue of Don Blas de Lezo before the background of the old Spanish fort Castillo San Felipe de Barajas at Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Don Blas de Lezo was a Spanish admiral who lost an arm, an eye, and a leg in service to the colonies, and famously led the defense of Cartagena against a vastly superior British force in 1741. His maimed appearance, accurately reflected on this statue, makes him look like a picture book pirate.
