Description

Die Tradition der Schuetzenfeste ist im Sauerland sehr stark lebendig. Im Sauerlaender Schuetzenbund sind 347 Vereine organisiert. Vielerorts ist es der Hoehepunkt des Jahres. Die Schuetzenfeste unterliegen einem geregelten Ablauf mit Umzuegen, Musik, dem Vogelschiessen und der Ermittlung des Schutzenkoenigs. In Balve, wo die Schuetzenbruderschaft Sankt Sebastian Balve das Schuetzenfest traditionall am zweiten Juli Wochenende veranstaltet, gibt es jedoch eine Besonderheit. Hier gibt es kein Festzelt und auch keine Schuetzenhalle sondern eine Hoehle. Die Balver Hoehle ist gross genug um hier das komplette Festprogramm des Schuetzenfestes zu veranstalten.
