Description
In Heddal befindet sich die größte Stabkirche Norwegens. Sie wurde um 1250 gebaut und "Kathedrale aus Holz" genannt. Die drei Türme sind ein Erkennungszeichen dieser Kirche. Sie ist der Jungfrau Maria gewidmet und seit 800 Jahren geistlicher Treffpunkt der einheimischen Bevölkerung. Die Kirche wird als Pfarrkirche und für Hochzeiten während des Sommers genutzt.
