Description

Die vor 150 Jahren gegruendete Heinrichshütte in Hattingen steht fuer den Beginn, die Bluete und den Niedergang der Schwerindustrie im Ruhrgebiet. Bis zu 10000 Menschen waren hier beschaeftigt. Gegen den erbitterten Widerstand einer ganzen Region wurde 1987 Hochofen 3, der aelteste im Revier, ausgeblasen. Heute ist die ehemalige Huette einer von insgesamt acht Standorten des LWL Industriemuseums. Die Henrichshuette ist ein Ankerpunkt nicht nur der Route Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet sondern auch der Europaeischen Route der Industriekultur ERIH.
