Das Zisterzienserkloster Chorin nördlich von Berlin wurde 1258 gegründet und 1542 säkularisiert. Später verfiel der wertvolle Backsteinbau und wurde als Steinbruch benutzt. In der Romantik wurde die Ruine wiederentdeckt und in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jh. umfassend restauriert. - The former Cistercian monastery Chorin was founded in 1258 and is situated North of Berlin in Germany. The buildings decayed after the secularisation in the 16th century. The ruins was rediscovered at the beginning of the 19th century and was restored in the second half of the 20th century.
