Die Villa Huegel in Essen diente von 1873 bis 1945 der Industriellenfamilie Krupp als Wohnsitz und Repraesentationsort des Unternehmens. Das Grosse Haus war einst Hauptwohngebaeude der Familie und beherbergt heute die Kulturstiftung Ruhr. Im kleinen Haus informieren Ausstellungen über die Geschichte der Familie und des Unternehmens Krupp sowie die Foerderaktivitaeten der Alfred Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung, die auch Eigentuemerin der Villa ist. Die Villa Huegel mitsamt der repraesentativen Parkanlage, die zu einem Saziergang einlaedt, ist heute ein Ankerpunkt der Route Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet sowie der Europaeischen Route der Industriekultur ERIH und liegt in unmittelbarer Naehe zum Baldeneysee.
