Die Hauptverwaltung des groessten deutschen Stahl- und Energiekonzerns, die Firmenzentrale der ThyssenKrupp AG, ist von Duesseldorf nach Essen zurueckgekehrt. Nach dreijaehriger Bauzeit ist das Thyssen-Krupp-Quartier offiziell eingeweiht worden. Das Thyssen-Krupp-Headquarter Q1 in der Altendorfer Straße 120 bildet als repraesentativer und funktionaler Mittelpunkt das Herzstueck des Quartiers. Vom Krupp-Park und vom Berthold-Beitz-Boulevard aus ist die architektonische Landmarke aus Edelstahl, Stahl, Titan und Glas zu sehen. Genau hier hat vor 192 Jahren Alfred Krupp seine Gussstahlfabrik errichtet. Mit einer Hoehe von 50 Metern ueberragt das Thyssen-Krupp-Headquarter alle uebrigen Gebaeude auf dem Campus, ohne diesen unangemessen zu dominieren. In der Mitte des dreizehngeschossigen markanten Gebaeudes befindet sich ein verglaster Innenhof. Mehr als 2000 Mitarbeiter arbeiten in dem neuen Quartier.
