Description

Heute werden im groessten Kanalhafen Europas neben Stahlprodukten vor allem Baustoffe, Mineraloele, Kohlen, Schrott und andere Massengueter umgeschlagen. An der Kanalstraße wurde 1989 das Container Terminal Dortmund, abgekuerzt CTD, in Betrieb genommen, das ueber zwei große Verladebruecken verfuegt, die neben Containern auch Schwergut von bis zu 60 t auf Binnenschiffe verladen koennen. 2007 wurden im Dortmunder Hafen 3,2 Mio Tonnen Fracht umgeschlagen. Dies bedeutet gegenueber 2006 eine Steigerung um 7,1 Prozent. Diese Steigerung ist vor allem ein Erfolg des Containerterminals Dortmund.
