Description

Marius Petipa brachte 1877 die Choreografie „LA BAYADERE“ in St. Petersburg auf die Bühne. Glücklicherweise sind die Notationen des Originals erhalten geblieben so das heute Choreografen uns ein verlässliches Bild seiner Ideen vermitteln können. Dies tat in dieser Inszenierung der Choreograph Alexei Ratmansky zur Musik von Ludwig Minkus und der Mithilfe von Jerôme Kaplan bei Bühnenbild und Kostüm. In kolonial geprägten Bildern eines phantastischen Indiens von Tempeln und Palästen wird die Geschichte einer nicht standesgemäßen Liebe erzählt: die Bajadere Nikia – eine indische Tempeltänzerin – liebt den Krieger Solor, der wiederum aber Gamsatti, der Tochter des mächtigen Radscha als Gatte versprochen ist. Den Gesetzen der Dramatik folgend kann diese Verbindung nur unglücklich enden – im „Königreich der Schatten“. Bunt, farbentprächtig, oppulent und wie man heute vielleicht sagen würde „divers“ ist dieses Ballett ein Genuss für Augenmenschen. Am Staatsballett Berlin.
