Die Burg Karlštejn (deutsch Karlstein) befindet sich rund 30 km südwestlich von Prag in Tschechien. Sie wurde von Kaiser Karl IV. erbaut und beherbergte von ca. 1350 bis 1421 die Reichskleinodien des Heiligen Römischen Reiches. Karlštejn Castle is a large Gothic castle founded 1348 AD by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor-elect and King of Bohemia. Located about 30 km southwest of Prague above the village named Karlštejn, it is one of the most famous and most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic.
