Description

Die Station Bochum Rathaus, zentral in der Bochumer Innenstadt gelegen, gestaltet sich als komplexes Arrangement von drei einzelnen Anlagen, die in einem rechtwinkligen Dreieck angeordnet sind. In der Tat tragen zwei der drei Bahnhoefe die Zusatzbezeichnung Nord bzw. Sued. Der Nordbahnhof ist dabei die aelteste der Anlagen und erstreckt sich auf der Diagonalen von der Hans-Boeckler-Strasse bis zur Bongardstrasse. Dort hat dieser Bahnhof eine gemeinsame Verknuepfungsebene mit dem Suedbahnhof und gleichzeitig mit den Kellergeschossen zweier Einkaufszentren. Bochum Rathaus Sued verlaeuft entlang der Bongardstraße und des Willy-Brandt-Platzes. Er hat mit dem Renault Traffic Award 2006, Sonderpreis der Kommunen, bereits eine Architektur Auszeichnung erhalten. Neben der ungewoehnlichen Faltwerkdecke, den Lichtschaechten und den verglasten und beleuchteten Waenden faellt vor allem eine unterirdische Bruecke auf, auf der die Linie 306 den Bahnhof ueberquert. Unmittelbar noerdlich dieser Bruecke befindet sich in Rampenlage, aber bereits ueberirdisch, der dritte Bahnhof.
