Description
Sydney summer supercell thunderstorm vision over Sydney, Broken Bay, and part of Cental Coast. A supercell is caused by a rotating updraft when cooler air underflows the warmer moisture laden air. As the cooler but drier air circulates to the warm moisture laden inflow, the cloud base will frequently form a wall and multi shelf clouds and the cloud base often experiences a 'lowering', which in extreme cases are where the tornadoes are born. The clouds in the panorama look very cyclonic or like a tornado. Maybe how the term mesocyclone is associated with a supercell. Also a hint of a rainbow at Box Head
