Description

Ein 165 Meter langer, roter Stahldrachen über die Cranger Straße bindet den Stadtteilpark Recklinghausen-Hochlarmark direkt an die Haldenlandschaft Hoheward an. Nach der Idee des Architekten Professor Woerzberger entstand die spektakulaere Brueckenskulptur. Der geschwungene Drachenkoerper besteht aus einer 3,50 Meter breiten Stahlbetonplatte mit farbiger Wegmarkierung. Er steht auf sieben Meter hohen Drachenfuessen. Der rund achtzehn Meter hohe Drachenhals ist um 180 Grad gedreht. Die Drachenbruecke symbolisiert das Eingangstor zu den astronomischen Landmarken auf der Halde Hoheward, wie der Horizontalsonnenuhr mit dem Obelisken und dem Horizont-Observatorium.
