Description
The Qobustan Mud Volcanoes have been a geological reserve in the Azerbaijani municipality of Qobustan on the Absheron Peninsula since 2001. Azerbaijan has the world's largest number of mud volcanoes, around 300. Their occurrence in the area around Qobustan is closely connected with the oil and gas deposits there.
