Mauritius, Botanischer Garten, Corypha umbraculifera. Die Talipot-Palme gehört in die Gattung der Schopfpalmen und ist eine der größten Fächerpalmen mit einer Wuchshöhe bis 30 Meter und einem Blattdurchmesser von 5 Meter. Nach etwa 50 Jahren blüht die Palme und bildet den größten Blütenstand der Welt, bis 8 Meter hoch und mit Millionen Blüten. Danach stirbt die Pflanze ab.
