Machapuchare (6993m) seen at sunrise from Sarangkot in Pokhara on a clounless, chilly January morning. The mountains is in distance of about 29 km as the crow flies from this point. Machapuchare, meaning a fishtail, is regarded as a sacred mountain by local people. It is believed to belong to the Hindu god Shiva. Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal.
