13.09.2009., Vinkovci, Croatia „Vinkovacke jeseni" is a folklore festival of national importance and also the largest festival of it's kind in the east part of Europe that takes place once a year in the town of Vinkovci, Croatia. Slavonian inhabitants always nurtured the herritage of their forefathers, their pride, merry temperament, folklore, handcraft and unique folk costumes which present all of the beauty and wealth of the region. When the loss of Slavonian identity became a threat, the idea of immortalizing and gathering of the traditional culture of this region was born. In 1966 the idea came to life in the form of a folklore festival that aspires to a permanent afirmation of the traditional art and cultural herritage of Slavonian region and the rest of Croatia. Looking get the «Vinkovacke jeseni» we feel the spirit of the Slavonian man, the beauty of the Slavonian plain and the undying desire to keep the memory of the past herritage alive for the future generations.
