Description

Die Wallfahrtsbasilika Mariä Heimsuchung ist eine katholische Wallfahrtskirche in Werl im Kreis Soest in Suedwestfalen. Sie wurde am 16. Oktober 1953 in den Rang einer paepstlichen Basilica minor erhoben. Die Kirche wurde in den Jahren 1904 bis 1906 nach den Plaenen des muensterischen Dombaumeisters Wilhelm Sunder Plassmann im neuromanischen Stil erbaut. Die Aussenhuelle wurde aus Ruethener Gruendsandstein gefertigt.
