Description
A salt marsh is an environment in the upper coastal intertidal zone between land and salty or brackish water, dominated by dense stands of halophytic (salt-tolerant) plants such as Common Glasswort (Salicornia europaea), Sea Purslane (Halimione portulacoides), Sea Wormwood (Artemisia maritima), or Sea Lavender (Limonium).
