Description
The Schwelgern coking plant in Duisburg, in operation since 2003, is one of the largest coking plants in the world. It produces 2.5 million tons of coke per year which are used by the neighboring steel mill; by-products are coke oven gas and coal tar. Total construction costs were approx. 800 million euros.
