Description

Der RWE Turm ist der Hauptsitz des RWE Konzerns in Essen. Mit seiner Hoehe von 120 Metern, mit Antenne 162 Meter, ist er das hoechste Gebaeude des Ruhrgebiets. Er wurde von den Architekten Ingenhoven Overdiek Kahlen und Partner entworfen und im Dezember 1996 fertiggestellt. Der Turm hat 30 Obergeschosse sowie drei Untergeschosse. Es handelt sich um ein Polygon mit 51 Ecken und 32 Metern Durchmesser. Das Bauwerk in der Essener Innenstadt zaehlt zu den Sehenswuerdigkeiten der Stadt.
