Description

2004 wurde das H2 Office, ein Buerogebaeude mit Freizeit- und Gastronomieangeboten, von dem Architektenteam Bothe Richter Teherani BRT und dem Investor Viterra Development fertiggestellt. Um 1900 entstand das Zentrum des deutschen Getreidehandels am Duisburger Innenhafen. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg verlor der Hafen seine Bedeutung, in den siebziger Jahren drohte den alten Getreidespeichern der Abriss. Heute gestalten Architekten, Kuenstler und Stadtplaner ihn zu einem attraktiven Stadtquartier um, das Arbeiten, Wohnen und Freizeit miteinander verbindet. Der Duisburger Innenhafen gehoert zu den Ankerpunkten der Route Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet sowie der Europaeischen Route der Industriekultur ERIH und ist ein Projekt der Internationalen Bauausstellung Emscher Park (IBA).
