Description

Die "Internationale Bauausstellung Emscherpark" (IBA) organisierte 1999 erstmals eine Nacht der Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet. 2001 lebte die Idee wieder als Extraschicht auf und wird seitdem jedes Jahr gefeiert. Von 18 Uhr abends bis 2.00 Uhr nachts haben sich 40 einstige und jetzige Industriestandorte 2009 in fazinierende Spielstätten fuer 120 Events verwandelt und mehr als 150 000 Besucher begeistert. Der Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord ist ein Ankerpunkt der Route Industriekultur im Ruhrgebiet sowie der Europaeischen Route der Industriekultur ERIH. Auf dem 200 Hektar grossen Gelaende bildet die 1985 stillgelegte Meidericher Eisenhuette den Mittelpunkt fuer einen ganz besonderen Park. In den alten Erzbunkern gibt es einen Kletterpark, im ehemaligen Gasometer kann sogar getaucht werden. Industriegeschichte, Oekologie, Erholung, Freizeit und Kultur sind hier nah beeinander. Die Geblaesehalle ist eine Spielstaette zur RuhrTriennale und nachts verwandelt sich die ehemalige Eisenhuette durch eine Lichtinzenierung des britischen Kuenstlers Jonathan Park in ein fazinierendes Lichtspektakel das seinesgleichen sucht.
