Der Phoenix-See ist ein kuenstlicher See mit bebaubaren Uferzonen auf dem ehemaligen Stahlwerksareal Phoenix Ost im Dortmunder Ortsteil Hoerde. Das erste Roheisen wurde in Hoerde, wenige Meter von der Stelle entfernt, wo der Thomas Konverter jetzt steht in Puddeloefen zu Rohstahl veredelt. Diese Thomasbirne ist die letzte, die 1954 in der Hoerder Kesselschmiede gebaut wurde. Sie war bis zur Schliessung des Thomasstahlwerks im Jahre 1964 in Dortmund im Einsatz. Heute steht sie als Industriedenkmal am Phoenix See.
