Aerial view of the lignite-fired coal power plant in Niederaussem, Germany. With a total output of 2,804 MW net, it is the second most powerful power plant in Germany after the Neurath power plant. With CO2 emissions of 16.1 million tons, the power plant also caused the third highest greenhouse gas emissions of all European power plants in 2021. The power plant has the second highest cooling tower in the world at 200 meters.
