Die Kartoffelrose (Rosa rugosa, Syltrose) gehört zu den am meisten vorkommenden Pflanzen auf Sylt. Sie wurde seit Mitte des 18. Jh. als Pionierpflanze an Stränden und auf Dünen gepflanzt. Im Herbst bis weit in den Oktober hinein sieht man die überreifen Hagebutten und welkenden Blätter überall zwischen den Dünen. - The Ramanas rose (Rosa rugosa) is very common on the North sea island of Sylt, Germany. In autumn the overripe rose hips and coloured leaves gleam everywhere between the dunes.
