Description

Portal and the interior of the mosque located in the Taj Mahal complex, West of the mausoleum lit by the rising sun. Minbar and detailed wall decoration on the right-hand side of the mihrab. A February view. The mosque is built of the red sandstone and is beautifully decorated with pietra dura, paintings, and reliefs. As each element in the Taj Mahal complex is symmetrical, there is an alike building on the opposite side of the mausoleum. That one is called jawāb – the answer - and it could not be a mosque as it faces the East. Taj Mahal is considered to be a symbol of love, it is one of the wonders of the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most famous landmark of India. Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
