Description

Hoch über der Stadt erhebt sich in strahlendem Weiß das Wahrzeichen Ravensburgs, der um 1425 erbaute Mehlsack. Seinen Namen verdankt er seiner runden Form und dem hellen Verputz. Seine ursprüngliche Bezeichnung war "Weißer Turm". Die Plattform des Turmes diente den Bürgern zur Kontrolle des Veitsburg-Geländes, das sich bis ins 17. Jahrhundert in der Hand der Landvögte, der politischen Gegner der freien Reichsstadt befand.
