Berlin Neukölln, 19.12.2012, Hotel Estrel, 18. Weihnachstfest für Obdachlose, organisiert von dem Sänger und Moderator Frank Zander. Ein Weihnachtsessen mit Gänsekeulenbraten, Weihnachtsgebäck, gespendeten warmen Kleidern, Schlafsäcken, Geschenken und einer Bühnenshow. Zwanzig Friseure schnitten kostenlos Haare, Tiere wurden ärztlich versorgt, Prominente und Politiker servierten das Weihnachtsessen. (Sänger Frank Schöbel, Boxer Artur Abraham, Graziano “Rocky” Rocchigiani, der Neuköllner Bürgermeister Buschkowsky, Sängerin Jeanette Biedermann und Boxtrainer Uli Wegener, Cem Özdemir). Nils Thomsen und das Tabakskollegium Berlin spendeten über 750 Pfeifen, 6000 Zigarillos und zehn Kilo Tabak. Die ca. 2800 Gäste verspeisten ca. 6000 Knödel, 250 Liter Soße und 680 Kilo Rotkohl". Der Abend klang aus imit Frank Zanders Song: "Nur nach Hause geh`n wir nicht” Frank Zander versprach auch 2013 wieder ein Weihnachtsfest auszurichten. Wohnungslose gibt es 2012 nach unbestätigten Meldungen um 11 000 in Berlin, viele der Wohnungslosen leben in Heimen der verschiedensten sozialen Träger. Etwa 500 Menschen haben absolut kein Dach über dem Kopf und leben 24 Stunden auf der Straße.
