Die imposante und 46 Meter hohe Ederseestaumauer im Norden Hessens zwischen Sauerland und Kassel, hier mit Schloss Waldeck im Hintergrund. Die Staumauer hält bis 202 Mio Kubikmeter Eder-Wasser zurück und wurde im 2. Weltkrieg von englischen Bombern zerstört, was zu großen Verwüstungen im Eder- und Fuldatal führte, viele Menschen mussten ihr Leben lassen. Heute dient der Stausee zu Energiegewinnung, Wasserregulierung und als Freizeit-Mekka.
