Description
Das Neutor, auch Neuetor, genannt befand sich im Suedosten der Stadtmauer in Dortmund. Das Tor wurde 1320 erbaut und sicherte den Handelsweg in die maerkischen Staedte Hoerde, Schwerte und Altena. Es ist in der Stadtansicht von Sueden des Derick Baegert auf dem Altarretabel in der Propsteikirche von 1475 abgebildet. Auch dieses Bauwerk bestand aus Torturm, befestigtem Vorwerk und einer Zugbruecke und war weniger stark befestigt. Das Neutor wurde im Jahre 1804 auf Stadtmauerhoehe abgebrochen und 1810 vollstaendig geschleift.
