Die Eger (tschechisch Ohře) ist ein linker Nebenfluss der Elbe in Deutschland und Tschechien. Sie entspringt bei Weißenstadt im Fichtelgebirge und mündet bei Litoměřice (deutsch Leitmeritz) in die Elbe. Cheb (deutsch Eger) ist eine Stadt in der Karlsbader Region im äußersten Westen Tschechiens. Mit rund 32.000 Einwohnern ist die Stadt ein bedeutender Standort für Bildung und Industrie. Im Hoch- und im Spätmittelalter war Eger eine Freie Reichsstadt im Heiligen Römischen Reich, was sich im Stadtwappen widerspiegelt.
