Description

Das Projekt „Wir 2 / My 2“ greift die vergessene gemeinsame Geschichte der Grenzstädte Selb und Aš auf. Die Menschen „hüben und drüben“ werden zu Begegnung und Austausch angeregt und die regionale Identität gestärkt, so dass am Ende des Prozesses eine beispielhafte „Europastadt Selb/Aš“ wachsen kann. Vier Hauswände in Selb und Aš wurden, von zwei deutschen und zwei tschechischen jungen Künstlern gestaltet – Geschichte und Zukunft der beiden Städte darstellend. In der Fußgängerzone von Selb befindet sich dieses Monumentalbild von der tschechischen Künstlerin Beata Kuruczova. Die von ihr abgebildeten Personen haben die Geschichte beider Stätte maßgeblich mitgeschrieben. Von links nach rechts: Martin Luther, Fabrikant Philipp Rosenthal und der Ašer Philanthrop Gustav Geipel als Zentauren dargestellt, Johann Wolfgang Goethe.
