View to the northern part of Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany. Seen is also the River Havel and the harbor of Potsdam. View to Potsdam and the new Castle. In background is seen the new rebuilt Potsdam City Palace in the historical Baroque style. The famous architect Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff built under Friedrich II from 1744 to 1752 the Baroque Palace. Now the new rebuilt Potsdam City Palace is the place for the state government of the federal state of Brandenburg. Also is seen the Hotel Mercure (left), built in the sixties of the 20th century and the River Havel and the church St. Nikolai (right).
